FASHION TRENDS S/S2015: Smart Shopping (Part 1)

Fashion Trends S/S2015 announces the arrival of the new season: the sun rises, the good weather comes and it's time to reinvent our image for this season. The best way to do so is shopping intelligently so that we can make the most of our clothes and look great during the following months. As is tradition, in AF Moda we publish our trilogy with tips to understand the trends that come and buy them judiciously, controlling compulsive and irrational fashion consumption, and choosing the ones that best suits our style, personality and physiognomy.

Over the coming months you will find many articles about Fashion Trends S/S2015 in blogs, magazines and specialized fashion pages, so stay tuned to keep up with what's coming and how to wear it in the best way.  In AF Moda we expect our trilogy serve you as a starting point and inspiration for the spring and summer, giving you a smile and the best disposition towards the world of fashion. There are four key elements to consider in each fashion season: colors, prints, fabrics, finishes, and the key items (those that appear renewed every season and enjoy greater success, which means they will be available at all points of sale). When we buy a new garment or search in our wardrobe looking for what of what we have might be used again in the season, as long as we manage to have one or more of these features, we will be on the right track within fashion trends, looking "beautiful" at the same time.

You will find all elements that we have described in most of the garments that are already on sale in shops, in a variety of qualities, patterns and prices to suit all tastes and possibilities. It´s all about taking a look at what we have in our closet and find what could work and be reused, and complement it with a new add garment.

With having or buying some clothes or accessories that fit into one or more of these features, you will be a little closer to Fashion Trends S/S2015. If we want to go even further, we have to get into the field of style, which is the subject of the second part of this trilogy: Women Styles for Spring / Summer 2015.

CAOMKA: Los Favoritos de AF Moda

CAOMKA es uno de los más recientes descubrimientos que hemos hecho y que rápidamente se ha convertido en uno de los favoritos de AFModa. Y es que pocas veces encontramos productos de moda donde funcionalidad, estilo y belleza se fusionen realmente en beneficio del cliente final. Suelen tener una de las cualidades, pero muy pocos combinan tan bien estos tres elementos.

CAOMKA se trata de una firma de bolsos, riñoneras y bandoleras fundada en el año 2008 por Gema Valls, una madre emprendedora que buscó la manera de reinventarse creando un producto muy especial y lleno de personalidad. El nombre de la marca viene de la mezcla de los nombres de sus tres hijos, lo cual une su producto con su historia de vida, reforzando aún más la identidad de su negocio.

Los bolsos y riñoneras de CAOMKA son exclusivos y de ediciones limitadas, ya que son hechos a mano por la diseñadora. Son prendas modernas, cómodas y divertidas, que gracias a su variedad de colorido y estampados podremos combinar a la perfección con nuestros looks informales y casual. Son un complemento muy práctico pero con un toque "cool" que los hace especiales y llamativos.

Suele pensarse que las riñoneras son más para jóvenes o incluso asociarlos a la actividad deportiva o a productos para viaje, dada la comodidad y poco estilo que las caracteriza (la verdad suelen ser poco feas y básicas). Sin embargo, cuando vemos productos como los de CAOMKA, donde podemos disfrutar de la funcionalidad de la riñonera pero con un diseño lleno de detalles, en colores y estampados divertidos, la cosa cambia y adquiere un atractivo especial. Podemos incorporar fácilmente los productos de CAOMKA  a nuestra cotidianidad, combinarlos con una gran variedad de prendas y accesorios, especialmente en esos días en que el agite diario nos pide comodidad pero que no queremos perder nuestro estilo. Es cuestión de atreverse a experimentar con nuestra imagen y de cambiar la perspectiva de la riñonera, valorándola ahora como un nuevo objeto de diseño.

CAOMKA: AF Moda´s Favorites

CAOMKA is one of the most recent discoveries we have made and has quickly become a favorite of AF Moda. We rarely find fashion products where functionality, style and beauty actually merge for the benefit of the end customer. They usually have one of the qualities, but few combine well these three elements.

CAOMKA is a brand of handbags and waist packs founded in 2008 by Gemma Valls, an entrepreneur mother who sought to reinvent herself creating a very special and full of personality product. The brand name comes from the mixture of the names of her three children, which connects her product with her life story, further strengthening the identity of her business.

Bags and waist packs of CAOMKA are exclusive and limited editions because they are handmade by the designer. They are modern, comfortable and fun, thanks to its variety of colors and prints that perfectly combine with our informal and casual looks. They are a very practical but with a "cool" touch that makes them a special and striking accessory.

Waist or fanny packs are often thought more as a youth or associate to sport or travel product, given the comfort and style that characterizes them (we have to admit that often they are a little ugly and basic). However, when we see products such as CAOMKA, where we can enjoy the functionality of a waist pack but with a design full of details, in fun colors and prints, things change and acquire a special appeal. We can easily incorporate CAOMKA products to our everyday life, combining them with a variety of clothes and accessories; especially in these days when the daily runs demand comfort but without losing our style. It's about daring to experiment with our image and change the perspective of the waist pack, valuing it now as a new design object.

In AF Moda we are fans of the waist packs since long time ago, and brands like CAOMKA encourage us to be even more. MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK MADRID: Los Favoritos de AF Moda O/I 2015-2106

La Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid es la semana de la moda con más tradición en España, y recientemente celebró sus desfiles de Otoño/ Invierno 2015-2016. Como cada año, IFEMA fue el espacio que recogió el trabajo y las propuestas de las grandes firmas de moda española y de los nuevos diseñadores, a través de su plataforma Samsung Ego.

Una vez más, en AF Moda siempre dedicamos uno de nuestros posts a hablar del trabajo de los diseñadores de la Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid que más nos gustan. A algunos los seguimos desde hace mucho tiempo, otros los descubrimos en esta edición, pero el hecho es que siempre es un evento que nos encanta, y del que siempre salimos gratamente sorprendidos por la calidad de los trabajos presentados y el talento de los diseñadores españoles.

Dicho esto, les contamos cuáles fueron nuestros diseñadores favoritos de esta nueva edición de la Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid en su edición Otoño/Invierno 2015-.2016:

TERESA HELBIG:

Esta diseñadora es una de nuestras eternas favoritas! Nos encanta su creatividad, su patronaje perfecto y su elegante rebeldía. Su nueva colección se titula “Sala 13” y se inspira en las paredes del Museo del Prado, como un referente estético que resiste al tiempo. Las prendas de esta colección buscan rescatar la atemporalidad de los clásicos dentro del entorno cambiante de la moda, por lo que propone una reinterpretación vital, colorista y moderna. La gama de colores oscila en el amarillo, blanco, gris, negro y verde, trabajando con tejidos ligeros, de piel, brillos, y tejidos de lana propios del invierno. Simplemente maravillosa!.

THE 2ND SKIN AND CO:

Es la primera vez que esta firma participa en la Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid. Su colección es puramente invernal y se llama “Warming” ya que rescata la calidez de las prendas y el aire acogedor  protector de sus diseños. Es una colección que derrocha feminidad y estilo urbano, pensado para mujeres que quieren ir cómodas sin dejar de ser elegantes y de lucir prendas que la envuelvan. Mantienen el sello de la casa: las siluetas, los colores y estampados de diseño, los volúmenes y los minivestidos. Trabajan los tejidos como crepe de lana, paño de mohair, lana pura, y gazas bordadas. La paleta de color pasa por el azul marino, el borgoña y el rosa empolvado.

DESIGUAL:

Esta marca es sinónimo de felicidad y alegría, reflejadas en todo lo que la rodea: sus modelos, sus campañas publicitarias y muy especialmente en el tratamiento que le dan al color.  Esta colección nos invita a una vida nómada y a fomentar la idea de afrontar nuevos retos de vida. Con sus cortes y diseños asimétricos, llenos de estilo, para esta nueva colección nos proponen una paleta que oscilan entre los malvas, los mostazas, los negros, los burdeos y los verdes. Una colección muy bonita y divertida!.

MARÍA CLÉ LEAL:

Presentándose en la plataforma Samsung Ego, esta firma fue la ganadora del premio Mercedes Benz Fashion Talent de esta edición. Su colección se titula “Frágil” y busca trasmitir la vulnerabilidad y la transformación, inspirándose en la nueva etapa profesional de una de sus directoras creativas que ahora lleva la firma en solitario. La paleta de colores se mueve entre el negro, nude, fucsia y azul. Destacan los grandes volúmenes, como símbolo de protección. Trabaja los tejidos de fieltro, lana, tejidos rígidos y gazas.

LUG VON SIGA:

Esta firma ha sido un descubrimiento para nosotros: Nos encanta!. Su diseñadora, de origen turco y con formación en Italia, crea piezas únicas inspiradas en su legado cultural pero con aire contemporáneo. En esta colección se prepara en sus recuerdos y sueños infantiles, planteándonos una colección divertida y actual a la vez. Los motivos y bordados están repletos de color, trabaja la piel de doble cara plastificada como material protagonista, y maneja los contrastes de prendas usando chaquetas de gran volumen con líneas sofisticadas, o prendas de seda mezcladas con cachemir. La paleta de color contrasta tonos corales, borgoñas, violetas, azules y camel, con los grises y negros más profundos. Nos gusta mucho el trabajo de esta firma!.

Una vez más, se cerró una semana llena de Moda, talento y creatividad. Los diseñadores españoles se sobreponen a la dificultad de los tiempos que vivimos y buscan nuevos caminos para reinventarse sin por ello perder sus tradiciones y orígenes. La  Mercedes Benz Madrid Fashion Week Madrid consolida su pasado glorioso con un presente y un futuro que todavía está por escribirse.

MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK MADRID: AF Moda´s Favorites F/W 2015-2016

The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid is the fashion week with more tradition in Spain, and it recently celebrated its Fall/Winter 2015-2016 edition. Like every year, IFEMA was the space taken to show the work and proposals of the most important firms in Spanish fashion and the work of new designers through its platform Samsung Ego.

Once again in AF Moda, we dedicate one of our posts to talk about the work of the designers of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid we like the most. We have been following some of them for a while, others we recently discovered in this edition, but the fact is that this is always an event that we love, and always we are pleasantly surprised by the quality of the collections presented and talent of Spanish designers.

That said, we tell you which were our favorite designers of this Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid, Fall/Winter 2015-.2016´s edition:

TERESA HELBIG:

This designer is one of our eternal favorite! We love her creativity, her perfect pattern and elegant rebellion. Her new collection is entitled "Room 13" and is inspired by the walls of the Prado Museum, as an aesthetic reference that resists time. The garments of this collection seek to rescue the timelessness of ·”the classics” in the changing fashion world, and therefore proposes a vital, colorful and modern reinterpretation of them. The color palette ranges in yellow, white, gray, black and green, working with light fabrics, leather, glitter and wool fabrics. Simply wonderful!.

THE 2ND SKIN AND CO:

It is the first time that this firm participates in the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid. Its collection is purely winter and is called "Warming”, rescuing the warmth of the garments and protective feeling of their designs. It is a collection that exudes femininity and urban style, designed for women who want to be comfortable while still being stylish and wearing protecting clothes. The collection maintains the seal of the house: the silhouettes, colors and design patterns, volumes and mini-dresses. They work with fabrics like crepe of wool, mohair cloth, pure wool, and embroidered gauze. The color palette moves through the navy, burgundy and pale pink.

DESIGUAL:

This brand is synonymous with happiness and joy, reflected in everything that surrounds it: their models, their advertising campaigns and especially in the treatment given to the color. This collection invites us to a nomadic life and to promote the idea of facing new challenges in life. With their particular cuts and asymmetrical designs, full of style, this new collection proposes a palette ranging from mauve, mustard, black, burgundy and green. A very nice and fun collection!

MARY CLÉ LEAL:

Presenting the Samsung Ego platform, the firm was the winner of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Talent Award this year. Her collection is entitled "Fragile" and seeks to convey the vulnerability and transformation, inspired by the new career of one of its creative directors who now runs the firm alone. The color palette moves between black, nude, fuchsia and blue. Notable are the large volumes, as a symbol of protection, and the work with fabrics of felt, wool, stiff fabrics and gauze.

LUG VON SIGA:

This firm has been a discovery for us: We love it!. Its designer, of Turkish origin and trained in Italy, creates unique pieces inspired by its cultural heritage but with a contemporary flair. This collection is based in their memories and childhood dreams, transformed into a fun and current collection. The motifs and embroidery are full of color, double faced and plastic laminated leather as main material, and the work with contrasts of garments using bulky jackets with sophisticated lines, or with fabrics like silks mixed with cashmere. The color palette contrasts coral, burgundy, violet, blue and camel tones, with gray and deeper blacks. We really like the work of this firm!.

Once again we close a week full of fashion, talent and creativity. Spanish designers get over the difficulty of the times we live and seek new ways to reinvent themselves without losing its traditions and origins. The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid consolidates its glorious past with a present and a future that is yet to be written.

080 BARCELONA FASHION: Los Favoritos de AF Moda O/I 2015-2016

La 080 Barcelona Fashion es una de las semanas moda más famosas de España, un evento bianual que reúne a los mejores y más representativos diseñadores de moda catalanes en un espacio único, donde muestran sus propuestas y tendencias para la siguiente temporada.

En esta oportunidad, la 080 Barcelona Fashion escogió como sede el Museo Marítimo de Barcelona, un espacio lleno de magia y encanto, para mostrar las colecciones de Otoño/Invierno 2015-2016 de los diseñadores catalanes consagrados y noveles. Un evento impecablemente producido, con una promoción y difusión alucinantes, que le ha dado a esta pasarela un nombre propio en las semanas de la moda a nivel nacional e internacional.

En AF Moda somos fans incondicionales de la 080 Barcelona Fashion. Siempre nos asombra la profundidad conceptual de sus propuestas, su estilo bohemio y desenfadado, así como su espíritu rebelde que derrocha libertad. En esta edición pudimos disfrutar de propuestas increíbles, y como ya es tradición en nuestro blog, compartimos con ustedes nuestros diseñadores favoritos:

CELIA VELA: Colección Otoño/Invierno 2015-2016

Como todos saben, esta firma y esta diseñadora nos encantan, y venimos siguiéndola desde hace ya algún tiempo. Derrocha feminidad y sofisticación, con un cuidado excepcional de los detalles, y una manera magistral de mezclar materiales y texturas que le ha dado un alto reconocimiento nacional e internacional. En esta oportunidad se inspiró en una historia de amor entre una chica japonesa y un chico catalán, tomando el kimono como prenda base para el planteamiento de la colección. La paleta de colores oscila entre el negro, gris, azul morado y los tonos dorados y beige, mezclando diferentes texturas de punto, piel y tejidos con brillo. Simplemente maravillosa!

SITA MURT: Colección Otoño/Invierno 2015-2016

Otra de nuestras firmas favoritas. Hablar de esta firma es hablar de técnica al servicio de la investigación, donde el punto es el material estrella. Es una firma pensada para la mujer moderna y activa, que busca siempre la manera de hacer todo posible. Esta colección se inspira en el look masculino y british pero con un toque sexy, haciendo de la mezcla de texturas de seda y de punto el contraste perfecto para trasmitirlo. La paleta de colores oscila entre el gris, cobre, caqui, crudo y toques de azul eléctrico. Nos encantó esta colección!.

MIRIAM PONSA: Colección “Exilio”

Esta es otra de nuestras favoritas de la moda catalana. Destaca por su trabajo artesanal, y por sus propuestas conceptuales, siempre profundas e interesantes. Sale de las tendencias, y se inclina más hacia una moda de autor. Es maravillosa!. En esta colección se inspiró en los exiliados intelectuales españoles de la época franquista en 1939, en la aflicción y el sufrimiento que les ocasionó el viaje forzoso. Superposición de prendas y capas, volúmenes oversize, mezcla de tejidos (punto tricotado, lana, seda y latex) y una paleta de colores que oscila en el negro y el gris en varias tonalidades, son algunos elementos clave de esta colección. Un gran trabajo de creatividad y sensibilidad!.

MANGO: Colección Otoño/Invierno 2015-2016

Es una de las marcas españolas de mayor proyección internacional, con tiendas en importantes países del mundo. Para esta colección, se inspiraron en los años 70 y el estilo Hippie, proponiéndonos vestidos, faldas, ponchos, pantalones y shorts llenos de feminidad en tejidos vaporosos y de piel. La paleta de colores se mueve entre el blanco, negro y crudo con toques de color tabaco y azul. Nos gusta mucho el aire boho-chic y retro de esta colección!

LEBOR GABALA: Colección “Los Extremos se Atraen”

Una firma que acabamos de descubrir, nos ha cautivado por su profunda sencillez y por su tratamiento especial al tejido de punto (de cachemir, seda, algodón, lana merina y alpaca extra finas) y su forma magistral de mezclarlo con otros tejidos sublimes como el algodón, el terciopelo, los voiles, batistas y linos. Esta colección mezcla conceptos opuestos como el estilo retro/Psicodélico con los tejidos más tecnológicos y actuales. Contrastan también los largos, volúmenes y estilo de las prendas, paseándose entre lo deportivo, lo funcional y lo chic. Su paleta de colores oscilas desde los más básicos negros y grises, hasta los colores más vivos y llamativos como el naranja, azul, morado y verde. Nos encanta este descubrimiento. Es una firma muy muy interesante!.
